1. • The 2012 event  featured over 100 cask ales and ciders drawn from all parts of the UK. One of the many locally-organised CAMRA  festivals.

Solway Beer Festival

Hallmark Hotel, Carlisle. October

1. • Just across the border, this is a great ‘wee’ festival. It is usually held in Carlisle in October and the venue is bang next to the railway station.  With all those wonderful Cumbrian Breweries on hand, it has a great selection to choose from. 
   

It had over 50 Ales and Ciders on

CAMRA Branches promote local Beer Festivals, giving Ale lovers the chance to sample other brews. There’s a number of good CAMRA-supported Beer Festivals in the South of Scotland.  These provide a great opportunity to taste a number of new ales and to meet other CAMRA members. 

Some of the festivals in 2012 were ....

Dumfries Folk ‘n Ale Festival”

1. •  Held in July . A festival with a difference! Participants ‘go walkabout’ around up to 10 town centre pubs where they experience a range of over 50 ales on tap for the event.
   

2. •  Numerous Pub Folk Sessions : an open-air Concert and busking competition in the High St.
