Local Pub Awards

Photos show The Laurie Arms and Cavens being presented with the Pub of the Year Certificates in 2012 and 2011

CAMRA members in Dumfries & Stewartry choose the local “Pub of the Year”  by assessing the cask ale pubs within the area.  Click on the link below to see the criteria for assessing a “good Pub”.

The winner for our area is then judged against the other winners in the South of Scotland and Northern Ireland.  That winner is then compared with the top pubs in the North of Scotland and Central Scotland to select CAMRA’s “Scottish Pub of the Year.

Dumfries & Stewartry’s top 14 pubs are entered into CAMRA’s 2013 Good Beer Guide which was published in September 2012.
