The Waverley Bar - Dumfries

The Waverley Bar is a welcome recent addition to the real ale scene in Dumfries. It is a busy traditional family run pub which is very close to Dumfries Railway Station and overlooks J.M. Barrie’s house.  This Victorian Free house has satellite sports TV and has weekly traditional bar games and quiz nights. It has a large traditional bar and a small quiet room in the back. There is also a large outside covered terrace and smoking area.

It is a popular bar which normally serves 2 cask ales.  One of these is “Waverley Steamer”

which is made specially by Sulwath Brewery

in Castle Douglas.

Meals and snacks are

served all day every day.

The pub has a veritable plethora of interesting features and ‘bric a brac‘ including the full-sized carved Red Indian figure  which occupies a corner of the bar.
